Amy Mascio is a professional musician with almost two decades of experience singing with world class organizations and conductors. She received her Master’s Degree in Music from California State University, Fullerton. While at Fullerton, she studied vocal and opera performance with Janet Smith and coached with Mark Salters. She graduated with both vocal and opera area honors. Amy received her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Brigham Young University studying both in Idaho and in Provo Utah. In addition to her degrees, she received advanced training with The Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy through the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is affiliated with the American Guild of Musical Artists, AGMA™.
Amy’s past engagements include the operatic roles Suzanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Poppea, (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Casilda(The Gondoliers), Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore) and Amina (La Sonnambula). Her solo concert work includes Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in D, and Mozart’s Requiem. She has also performed as a chorister for the operas Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci and Otello with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
She was an active chorister for fifteen seasons as a soprano with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and often performed as a guest artist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at both the Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Her professional recordings include The Verdi Requiem with Gustavo Dudamel on Deutsch Grammaphon, Górecki: Miserere with Grant Gershon on Decca, and Los Angeles Master Chorale: Festival of Carols, recorded live at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Amy Mascio has been involved with Millennial Choirs and Orchestras in Orange County since it’s inaugural concert in 2007 to 2023. She worked as the conductors assistant for all youth choirs, age 4-18, sang in the Grand Chorus, was first soprano section leader, has performed on multiple recordings, and was a frequent soloist.
Amy has worked with notable conductors in the United States and Europe, including Grant Gershon, Esa PekkaSalonen, Lionel Bringuier, Charles Dutoit, Mack Wilburg, Gianfranco Cosmi, Shawn Kirchner, Eric Whitacre and Gustavo Dudamel.
Amy is currently a soprano with the Lux Singers chamber Ensemble directed by Leland Spindler. She lives in Orem Utah with her husband Bobby, three sons, and a daughter.
